‘Flashpoint’ star stays loyal to Vancouver Canucks

What can you tell me about David Paetkau, who plays Sam Braddock on “Flashpoint”?

In addition to his role as Braddock, the young, hotshot sniper on “Flashpoint,” Paetkau, 34, is known for playing Ira in “Goon” and Evan Lewis in the cult horror film “Final Destination 2.”
The Vancouver, British Columbia-born actor’s TV credits include “Whistler,” “Dexter,” “LAX,” “CSI: Miami,” “Eureka,” “Smallville,” “Supernatural” and “Stargate SG-1.”
His other film roles are “Snow Day,” “I’ll Always Know What You Did Last Summer,” “Alien vs. Predator: Requiem” and “For Heaven’s Sake.”
Paetkau graduated from Concordia University in Montreal with a degree in psychology. Before launching his acting career, he took a year after college to backpack through Europe and the Middle East.
He lives in Toronto with his wife and two children. Despite the move, Paetkau is still loyal to his hometown hockey team, the Vancouver Canucks.
Next up for Paetkau is a role as a threat analyst in the Warner Bros. 2013 release “Man of Steel.”
