Hale, 90, a native of DeKalb, Ill., won an Emmy for her role as Mason’s confidential secretary in the 1957-1966 TV series. She also made about 45 films between 1943 and 1978, including “Lady Luck,” “Jolson Sings Again,” “Lorna Doone,” “A Lion Is in the Streets” and “Airport.” She and her late husband, actor Bill Williams, who starred in “The Adventures of Kit Carson,” have two daughters and a son, William Katt, who starred in “The Greatest American Hero” TV series and also played detective Paul Drake Jr. in several of the Perry Mason TV movies.
