What happened to the children of Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall?
Donald Carney, Tallahassee, Fla.

Bacall, 87, and Bogart, who died of esophageal cancer in 1957 at 57, have a daughter, Leslie, 59, a yoga therapist in Santa Monica, Calif., and son, Stephen, 63, a realtor in Naples, Fla., who worked in TV as a producer and writer. Says Stephen of his dad, “He was just a working actor. He put everything he had into each film.” Of Bogie’s classic film Casablanca, now on Blu-ray for its 70th anniversary, he says, “It’s probably the most quoted movie of all time.” He’s referring, of course, to such lines as “We’ll always have Paris,” “Of all the gin joints in all the towns in all the world, she walks into mine,” and “I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.”
