Speedman, 37, had aspirations of becoming an Olympic swimmer when he was growing up, and he placed ninth at the 1992 Olympic trials as a member of the Canadian Junior National Swim Team. But a neck injury put an end to his freestyle competitive swimming days. Best known for his role as Ben Covington on TV’s “Felicity,” the British-born, Canadian-raised actor returned to TV in ABC’s “Last Resort.”
