Strait up the Charts
Country singer George Strait's new CD, Somewhere Down in Texas, originally was scheduled for a fall release, but the response to the single You'll Be There has been so strong that the release date was moved up to June 28. The single earned the highest radio chart debut of any song in Strait's three-decade career. "I think this is one of the greatest songs I've ever heard, period," says Steve Guittarri of Cincinnati's WYGY. Somewhere Down in Texas is Strait's 33rd album and contains the songs If the Whole World Was a Honky Tonk and She Let Herself Go.
