‘Renovation Raiders’ host Amy Matthews built skills with Habitat for Humanity.
What can you tell me about HGTV’s Amy Matthews?

Amy Matthews, 40, combined two of her passions—performing and home improvement—into her career as a licensed contractor on “Renovation Raiders.” Growing up in Robbinsdale, Minnesota, she got her first taste of fix-it at age 14 when she traveled with her church youth group to repair homes for families in need. She took time out to study at Boston University and the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City before returning home and polishing her do-it-yourself skills, helping out Habitat for Humanity and landing her TV gigs. “I love inspiring people with the confidence to do things around the house,” she says.
