What can you tell me about Jami Gertz, the female lead on the TV series Still Standing? Was she once a guest on Seinfeld?
Robert Dolin, Suison City, Calif.

Do you remember Seinfeld’s girlfriend who claimed she sold office supplies but really worked as an adult-chatline operator? (She also refused to share any of her stall’s toilet paper with Elaine in the ladies room.) That was Gertz. The Chicago-born actress, 43, began her career as a teen in the TV series Square Pegs in 1982. She has a long list of credits, including the films The Lost Boys, Quicksilver and Less Than Zero, as well as a stellar turn as the lead in the TV movie Gilda Radner: It’s Always Something. In fact, her Judy Miller character in Still Standing was named after the memorable comedic character that Radner played on Saturday Night Live. Gertz lives in Los Angeles with her husband and three sons.
