What has happened to Kim Darby, who starred with John Wayne and Glen Campbell in the original version of True Grit?

Darby, 64, has taught acting in the Los Angeles area for years. She was pleasantly surprised by the 2010 remake of her most famous film. “But they’re really two very different movies,” she says. “I thought the film was brilliant.” She recalls working with Wayne, who played Rooster Cogburn, the role that won him his only Oscar. “He was there on the set before anyone else and knew every line perfectly,” says Darby, who is considering a move to Vermont.
