Is there any chance that Marg Helgenberger will stay with CSI now that Ted Danson has joined the cast? I heard this was her final season.
—Jackson Fox, Grants Pass, Ore.

According to Helgenberger, 52, the odds are pretty strong that she's seen her final season, but she adds that the door has been left open for her return.

Following her exit, she is planning to borrow a page from her previous CSI: Crime Scene Investigation co-star William Petersen, 58, who left to do theater. "I have been meeting with a lot of theater producers to explore that side of my acting ability," she says. "Obviously, I am not closing the door to any other form of television or film. If something as magical as CSI came along-but completely different-that would be great."

But Helgenberger's ties to CSI won't end when she leaves. Her son Hugh, 20, works on the series as a production assistant.

"We have been on so long that a lot of the crew members' children, who were all little kids at the time, are now working on CSI. That makes it more of a family and even harder to leave," adds the Fremont, Neb., native.
