How to Make a Miter Saw Base

To make better use of his shop’s narrow confines, Club member Norman Dias of Springfield, Missouri, created a sliding base for his 10-in. compound miter saw. He used 2x4s and oriented-strand board to build a platform for the saw (dimensions will vary depending on the brand and design of your saw); then he attached a pair of 200-pound-capacity heavy-duty full-
extension drawer slides to the sides of the platform and mounted the assembly to the top of his workbench. Now whenever he needs to use his miter saw, he simply slides it into position.
