Who is the actor that plays Hagrid in the ‘Harry Potter movies’?
—John Bergin, Willsboro, N.Y.

That’s Scottish actor, comedian and author Robbie Coltrane, 62, who’s also known for his role as Eddie Fitzgerald, a brilliant but deeply flawed forensic psychologist in the 1990s TV crime drama Cracker. Besides the Potter films, he starred in “Henry V,” “GoldenEye,” “The World Is Not Enough,” “Van Helsing” and “Ocean’s Twelve,” and provided the voice of Lord Dingwall in last year’s Brave. The first actor cast for the “Harry Potter” series, Coltrane was personally picked by writer J.K. Rowling. “Cracker: The Complete Collection” is now on DVD.
