I love the slapstick of The Three Stooges. I know there were actually six of them: Moe, Larry, Curly, Shemp, Joe and Curly-Joe. How many were related, and are any of them still alive?
—Sandy Beers, Greencastle, Pa.

Three of the six Stooges were brothers: Moe, Shemp and Curly Howard. The other three were frizzy-haired Larry Fine and rotund comedians Joe Besser and Joe DeRita (aka Curly-Joe). In 1993, DeRita became the final member of the team to die. His tombstone in Valhalla Memorial Park cemetery in North Hollywood, Calif., reads “The Last Stooge.”
