What can you tell me about Christa B. Allen on “Revenge”?
—Heidi Brown, Dixon, Calif.
Allen, 21, knew at a really young age that she wanted to be an actress. “I never saw myself as anything else,” she says. “You look in the mirror and you see yourself as a wife, a mother, a brunette… You see yourself as what you are. I looked at the mirror in the morning and I saw myself as an actress, which is what I am. I don’t know if that will ever change.”
Born in Wildomar, Calif., Allen, the youngest of five siblings, began her acting career in commercials, a student film and doing voiceover work. But her big break came when she was cast to play the young Jennifer Garner in “13 Going on 30.”
She later played a teenage Garner a second time in the movie “Ghosts of Girlfriends Past.” Her other credits include the independent film “One Kind Day,” “A Merry Little Christmas,” “One Wish” and the comedy/horror film “Detention of the Dead.”
In addition to “Revenge,” on which she plays Charlotte, Allen has guest starred on the TV series “Cold Case,” “CSI,” “Wizards of Waverly Place,” “Medium,” “ER,” “Grey’s Anatomy” and the TV movies “Deadly Sibling Rivalry” and “Chasing a Dream.”
As for her take on real-life revenge, Allen says, “I think these people have it all wrong. I think the best revenge is showing people you are happy, you are successful, you have it all together. All these people know how to do is hurt each other, stab each other in the back, steal, lie and cheat. That is the wrong way to get revenge.”
By the way, the “B” in Christa B. Allen stands for Brittany. She had to use her middle initial when she registered with Screen Actors Guild because there is another actress named Krista Allen (on “Days of Our Lives”).
