Club member Robert Yates of Niland, California, submitted this tip to keep air conditioner runoff from pooling. Drill a row of holes 1 in. from the bottom of a 5‑gallon bucket. Fill the bucket halfway with 1‑1/2-in.-dia. rocks; then add pea-size gravel to the top. Sink the bucket into the ground beneath the runoff outlet of the air conditioner. The bucket drain distributes water into the soil so you will never have to worry about runoff forming a small pond near your house again!
