What happened to the cast of The Amos ‘n’ Andy TV series?

Spun off from the popular radio series, The Amos ’n’ Andy Show ran on TV from 1951 to 1953 and was even more popular in reruns from 1954 to 1966. The cast featured Ernestine Wade, Amanda Randolph, Lillian Randolph, Johnny Lee and Nick Stewart, but the main stars were Alvin Childress as cab driver Amos Jones, Spencer Williams as blustering dreamer Andy Brown and Tim Moore as their Mystic Knights of the Sea lodge leader George “the Kingfish” Stevens. Childress died of diabetes and other ailments in 1986 at 78. Williams died of a kidney ailment in 1969 at 76. Moore died of pulmonary tuberculosis in 1958 at 71.
