The award-winning actor, 74, stars in the movie The Grace Card, set to open Feb. 25. He plays the minister of a small church who confronts racism as he prepares to turn his pulpit over to his grandson. “The message of the movie is absolute forgiveness, no matter what happens—and that is where the grace is,” Gossett says. The actor has three other faith-based movies in various stages of release: The Least Among You, Smitty and The Lamp. He released his autobiography, An Actor and a Gentleman, last year.
