Gardell, 42, was ready to leave Hollywood and take a job in radio when producer Chuck Lorre called and offered him the Mike & Molly role. "It was literally one of those calls you think don't even happen anymore," says the actor, who was weary of touring as a stand-up comedian and wanted to be home more with his wife and young son. "I love going to the park with him or playing Hot Wheels. That's the center of my world," The Pittsburgh, Pa., native has appeared in the movies Bad Santa and You, Me and Dupree and on TV’s The King of Queens, Monk, The Practice, Desperate Housewives and Bones.
