Please tell me something about Bridget Regan of “Legend of the Seeker.”
—C.R. Carson, Ashland, Miss.
Regan, 31, was born in San Diego, Calif., and raised in nearby Carlsbad. She began acting as a child in local productions such as “The Wizard of Oz” and “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.”
“I don’t remember ever not wanting to act,” she says. “I did a lot of musical theater when I was younger, and I really hope to get back there someday. I miss singing a lot.”
Regan is an alumnus of the University of North Carolina School of the Arts and began her professional acting career in 2006 with the TV movie “The Wedding Album.” Most recently, she had a recurring role on “Beauty and the Beast” opposite Jay Ryan, who she originally met when he guest starred on “Legend of the Seeker,” which filmed in New Zealand.
“On the ‘Beauty and the Beast’ set, I was teasing Jay constantly with my New Zealand accent,” she says. “He would just laugh at me a lot and say that I sounded like his mom.”
To fans who hope that “Legend of the Seeker” might return, Regan is not optimistic. “We did save the world, right? I am just happy to not put on a leather corset again—for a long time… I’m not going to lie.”
In addition to “Legend of the Seeker,” Regan’s other TV credits include “Six Degrees,” “The Black Donnellys,” “Law & Order: Criminal Intent,” “Perception,” “Person of Interest,” “NCIS: Los Angeles,” “New Amsterdam” and “Love Monkey.” On the big screen, she has appeared in “The Best and the Brightest,” “Sex and the City: The Movie” and “The Babysitters.”
The actress, who dyed her naturally curly, red hair brown for “Seeker,” is the mother of 2-year-old daughter Frankie Jean.
