The South African-born actress, 33, has two movies slated for later this year. First up, watch for her in The Burning Plain, a romantic mystery in which Kim Basinger plays her mother. The film was screened last year at festivals but is supposed to get a limited release this fall. Then, Theron will co-star with Robert Duvall and Guy Pearce in the big-screen adaptation of Cormac McCarthy’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel The Road, a post-apocalyptic tale about a man and his son.
