What was Charlton Heston's favorite movie?
—Gary Denton, Seminole, Okla.
The late actor always cited his 1968 Western Will Penny. But his son, Fraser Heston, 56, points out another film that had a tremendous impact on his father. "Ben-Hur was a landmark," he says. "It won him an Academy Award for best actor, and it defined him—not only as an actor, but it was very close to the kind of man he was: with deep-seated ethical beliefs and a loving man to family, friends and country." The Sept. 27 Blu-ray debut of Ben-Hur 50th Anniversary Ultimate Collector's Edition includes a new documentary narrated by Fraser, plus home movie footage shot by Heston's wife, Lydia, in Rome while the star was filming the movie in 1958.
