I was very impressed with Chow Yun-Fat in Anna and the King and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. Can you tell me something about his life?

Long before Chow Yun-Fat, 46, reached star status in America, he was a superstar in Asia. He spent his childhood in a fishing village on Lamma Island in Hong Kong and moved to the city when he was 10. At age 18, Chow enrolled in an actors' training course at TVB—Hong Kong's most powerful television station. After graduating, he worked as a contract player and, in 1976, his career skyrocketed as he starred in a drama series called Hotel. Chow started making feature films in 1977 and has starred in more than 70 films. He lives in Hong Kong with wife Jasmine, who acts as his manager.
