Q My family's favorite band was always 3 Dog Night. What is lead singer Chuck Negron doing these days?
—J. Weaver, Seymour, Ind.

Negron, 65, continues to perform concerts and sing 3 Dog Night hits such as "One," "Eli's Coming," "Mama Told Me (Not to Come)" and "Joy To the World," plus some of his own later solo work. "I am very proud to have been a part of 3 Dog Night and all that music. It's a part of the American landscape," says Negron, who went solo in 1977 after the band had run its course. The father of four says his voice has improved with age. "I've even gained half an octave; I now have a four-and-a-half-octave range."
