Covert Affairs is my favorite summer show. I love that Piper Perabo plays such a take-charge woman. Does she do her own stunts?
—Miranda Shane, Marietta, Ga.
Perabo, 34, who was born in Dallas and grew up in Toms River, N.J., does as much as she is allowed to do—and sometimes tries to do even more.
“The action in the show is incredible and it is like nothing [else] you see on television,” she says. “One of the funnest parts of doing the show is the stunts.”
In a recently filmed episode, Perabo’s character, CIA operative Annie Walker, had to jump into a moving helicopter. Because of the risk involved in doing such a thing in real life, the scene was to be a smoothly edited combination of shots of Perabo and her stunt double. “As we’re about to go, the director’s like, ‘No matter what happens, do not try and jump into that helicopter.’ They know me! I will try for it. As soon as I see that door open, it’s hard.”
