Is it true that a new Dallas TV series is in the works?

Yes! TNT has ordered 10 episodes of the show, which originally starred Larry Hagman as J.R. Ewing, about the bitter rivalries and family power struggles within a Texas oil and cattle-ranching dynasty. Look for it to air in summer 2012.
And speaking of the infamous J.R., Hagman will be reprising his role, as will Patrick Duffy (Bobby Ewing) and Linda Gray (Sue Ellen) to give the new Dallas a taste of authentic flavor.
In the original series, which aired from 1978 to 1991, a long and bitter rivalry between J.R. and Bobby eventually led to J.R. losing control of most of Ewing industries. In the new Dallas, the rivalry lives on in the next generation, aptly played by Josh Henderson, Jesse Metcalfe, Jordana Brewster, Julie Gonzalo and Brenda Strong.
