While he’s best known as Agatha Christie’s Belgian detective, David Suchet is an associate artist of the Royal Shakespeare Company, where he’s performed in plays such as King Lear and Richard II. He is married to former actress Shelia Farris and they have two adult children. The 57-year-old actor lives just outside London. He’s currently working on the last of four new two-hour movies of Poirot for A&E—Five Little Pigs, Sad Cypress, The Hollow, and Death on the Nile. The last movie was shot on location in Egypt. In addition to the United Kingdom and United States, the series is broadcast in more than 80 countries. Suchet also starred in the A&E original movie Victoria & Albert. His film credits include A Perfect Murder, A Song for Europe, The Falcon and the Snowman, Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes, Iron Eagle, A World Apart, Executive Decision, and Sunday, a Grand Prize honoree at the Sundance Film Festival.
