Q: What has Demi Lovato been up to since leaving Sonny With a Chance?

—Julie Holguin, El Paso, Texas

Lovato, 19, has been focusing on her music career. Her third studio album, Unbroken, was released in September by Disney's Hollywood Records label, and this fall she toured in support of it. She also performed the national anthem for Game 5 of the 2011 World Series.

It was Lovato's very public meltdown that led to her bipolar diagnosis and her decision to leave the Disney Channel series. At that time, she said, "It's kind of sad for me that a chapter of my life has ended but there couldn't be a better time for me to move on. It made sense for me to go ahead and leave the show to focus on my music. I don't think going back to Sonny would be healthy for my recovery."

Also, as a result of her experience in therapy, the Dallas, Texas-born singer/actress has partnered with Seventeen magazine and the Jed Foundation to help other girls battling the pressure to be perfect.
