Q I've been pleased to hear one of my favorites, Ed Bruce, on XM radio. Can you please tell me something about him and what he's doing now?

The writer of the hit songs "Mamas, Don't Let Your Babies Grow up to be Cowboys," "Texas When I Die" and "The Man Who Turned My Mama On" is now semi-retired and living in Monterey, Tenn., with his wife of 16 years, Judith. Bruce, 67, has a new gospel CD, Changed, available on his website, and still plays selective dates acoustically with "just my guitar and a stool, like when I started out."
