Born in Rock Island, Ill. (pop. 39,684), the affable Albert grew up in Minneapolis and was a circus trapeze flier before entering films in 1938. Now 96, he lives in Los Angeles and has spent his senior years gardening and working for humanitarian causes with daughter, Maria, and actor son Edward Jr. The Green Acres star has been a widower since wife Margo, an actress, singer and dancer, died in 1985. Regarding his legacy, "I don't really care how I am remembered," he says, "as long as I bring happiness and joy to people."
