I miss seeing Elizabeth Mitchell since V went off the air. Does she have anything new coming up?
—Clark Deschanel, Baton Rogue, La.
It has been a quiet time work-wise for Mitchell, 41, since she wrapped production on V . But the married mother of a 6-year-old son isn't sweating it.
"I think if I were a young, single actress it would be different, but I have a family so I tend to go back and have the myriad of duties associated with that. I should be frustrated but I'm pretty good about it," she says.
In December, Mitchell starred in the indie film Answers to Nothing , playing an attorney stressed almost to the breaking point by personal and professional challenges. The film, written and directed by Matthew Leutwyler, is the story of a group of people connected by coincidence, geography or choice, who are faced with a decision that will radically change the course of their lives.
Mitchell made the movie while she was still working on V and the final season of Lost . "I liked the script from the moment I read it. It fit beautifully into everything I was doing at the time&emdash;and by 'fit beautifully' I mean I slept about two hours a night! I was shooting it, the last season of Lost and the second season of V all at the same time. I didn't have time to think, but sometimes thinking is the worst thing actors can do. It's better to just go into it full of emotion and full of instinct and listen to your director."
