Inspired by his own Philadelphia childhood memories, comedian Bill Cosby created this beloved Saturday-morning cartoon series about a group of misfit urban kids who played in a junkyard, dealt with issues ranging from first love to the death of a loved one, and always stood by—and stuck up for—each other. Cosby opened and closed each episode with a “live” segment and provided the voices of several characters, including Fat Albert, whose “Hey, hey, hey!” became the show’s catchphrase.
