He followed the travels and transactions of a single $10 bill over its circuitous 30-day route, beginning when he handed it off in Kansas (at the geographic center of the United States) and ending when he finally bid it farewell as it ended its trek a month later in Michigan. Along the way he met a spectrum of Americans, including farmers, truck drivers, missionaries, musicians, hunters, nurses, auto workers, bankers, and learned a wealth of information about what makes our nation’s economy tick.
