Halloween is a big deal to American families. In fact, current statistics rank it as second only to Christmas! And Halloween isn’t just about kids going door to door anymore. Adults have gotten in on the act, and family pets have, too. Whether your pet dresses up in full costume or simply likes to greet visitors on All Hallow’s Eve, there are steps you should take to keep them out of harm’s way.

For starters, remember this mantra: Inside is best. Pets that are inside can stay out of trouble, be it scary decorations or scary people. And, much like you would toddler-proof a home during a holiday, you should also pet-proof your home to make sure an animal can’t get into candy, décor or anything else that could harm them.
