Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters
DVD $29.99 / Blu-ray $39.99 (Paramount Home Media)

A spoofy, splattery, grown-up take on the age-old fairy tale, this modern-esque version patches 20th century weaponry onto a Dark Ages setting and sets the fabled brother (Jeremy Renner) and sister (Gemma Arterton) on a quest against gruesome witches snatching up village children for their annual sacrifice. (If you’ve ever wondered if a Gatling gun would make a good witch-hunting tool, well, this is your kind of flick.) Bonus features provide a detailed look at the making of the movie and its special effects, including the hulking giant troll, Edward, who plays a significant role in this revised story.
