Ricky Nelson, who was born in Teaneck, New Jersey, became a teen idol during the 1952-1966 run of family sitcom “The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet,” which launched his pop music career and hits including “Poor Little Fool,” “Hello Mary Lou” and “Travelin’ Man.” He died in a plane crash in De Kalb, Texas, on New Year’s Eve 1985. The accident also took the lives of his five band members and fiancé Helen Blair.
