Adam Beach, 40, who stars in the Canadian drama series “Arctic Air,” was born in Ashern, Manitoba, Canada, as a member of the Saulteaux, a branch of the Ojibway nations, and grew up on the Dog Creek First Nations Reserve, and in Winnipeg. He made his acting debut as a teenager in the TV miniseries “Lost in the Barrens” opposite Graham Greene. Among his movie credits are “Smoke Signals,” “Windtalkers,” “Cowboys & Aliens” and “Flags of Our Fathers.” On TV, he starred in “Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee,” played Officer Jim Chee in three adaptations of Tony Hillerman novels, and was Detective Chester Lake in one season of “Law & Order: SVU.”
