I see George Segal back on TV with a new sitcom. Does he ever plan to retire?

George Segal, 79, who stars as Al “Pops” Solomon on “The Goldbergs,” is delighted to be in front of the cameras again and has no plans to quit acting. With a broad resumé that includes serious film dramas such as “Ship of Fools” and “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?” as well as silly sitcoms like “Just Shoot Me!,” “Entourage” and “Retired at 35,” the Great Neck, Long Island, New York, native says he’s a natural cut-up who’s always found it difficult to shift into somber gear. “It’s hard for me to get serious,” he says. “I’m always giggling inside.”
