Is Jordan Bridges on “Rizzoli & Isles” related to Jeff Bridges?
—Kerry Latsko, Norcross, Ga.
Jordan Bridges has Jeff Bridges, 63, as his uncle, and his father is Beau Bridges, which makes him a third-generation actor, since the late Lloyd “Sea Hunt” Bridges is his paternal grandfather. One of the highlights of his acting career was when Jordan, 39, and Beau, 71, starred together in the 1999 TV movie “P.T. Barnum,” with Jordan playing the young Barnum and Beau taking over for the adult portion of the role.
Bridges began his acting career at age 5 in the TV movie “The Kid From Nowhere,” directed by his father. Four years later, he starred in the Disney TV movie “The Thanksgiving Promise.”
After that, it was nearly eight years until Bridges worked professionally as an actor, preferring to focus on school. He appeared in several roles, ranging from Henry VIII in “Anne of the Thousand Days” to Jesus Christ in “Godspell” at the Oakwood School in Los Angeles.
Like his Uncle Jeff, who plays guitar and piano and has released two albums, Bridges has a penchant for music. While in school, he was a member of the rock band “The Mighty Thermos” and sang as his blues alter-ego, “Squirly Blind-boy.” Bridges continued to follow in the family business at Bard College, where he performed in several theatrical productions, including “Miss Juli” and “Angels in America.” In his junior year, he was accepted to the prestigious London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts.
After graduating, the Los Angeles native moved to Manhattan, where he launched his adult acting career. His credits include the movies “Phantom,” “J. Edgar” and “Mona Lisa Smile,” the TV movies “Holiday Engagement,” “Love Finds a Home” and “Love Takes Wing,” and the TV series “Conviction,” “Charmed,” “Dawson’s Creek,” “Dollhouse,” “Without a Trace,” “Bionic Woman,” “CSI: NY” and “Law & Order: Criminal Intent.”
Bridges, who studied kung fu for more than a decade, is married to Caroline Eastman. The couple lives in California and has two children, Orson and Lola.
