Q: I really enjoy Jeff Rose on Drop Dead Diva. He is popping up all over: as Major Bryce Ogden in Army Wives and as Lydia's dad in MTV's Teen Wolf. What can you tell us about him?

—Mary Beth DuBose, Ridgeland, S.C.

Rose, 46, put his career on hold after his mother suffered a stroke in the late 1990s. He left Hollywood and moved home to help care for her. After his family learned to manage his mother's condition-which kept Rose away from acting for more than two years-he fell in love and got married, so he was reluctant to move back to the West Coast.

Luckily for him, shows such as Army Wives, Drop Dead Diva and Teen Wolf all shoot on the East Coast (Charleston, S.C. and Atlanta, Ga.), so he was able to re-launch his acting career from his native Georgia.

"I have so much to be grateful for," says the father of two. "I thought my career was over not too many years ago. Now I can hardly find time to rest because I've been blessed with so much work."

Rose recently wrapped up the lead role of Stu Harvey in Writer's Block, a 1940s-era feature film, set to be released later in the year. He can also be seen in an episode of Tyler Perry's House of Payne, in commercials running on The Weather Channel for Dell Computers, and in the upcoming movie Georgia Justice, and he is writing and directing a movie for his Four Roses Entertainment that will shoot in China.
