Was Jon Voight a regular on The High Chaparral?
—Jane B., Iowa

Jon Voight was never a regular on any series. During the years the show aired, Voight's movie career was taking off, and he made very few television appearances. You may be confusing the 63-year-old Voight with Jerry Summers, who had the same high cheekbones and round face as Voight. Summers began his career as a stuntman and left The High Chaparral after its first season to return to stunt work full time. He is now retired. Voight, a Yonkers, N.Y., native, won an Oscar for his role in Coming Home as a disabled Vietnam War veteran. His other movie credits include Midnight Cowboy, Pearl Harbor, Tomb Raider (with daughter Angelina Jolie), and Ali.
