Would you share a profile of Julie Harris, who portrayed poet Emily Dickinson on stage?
William Beyer, Belvedere, Ill.
 
Harris, 86, who was born in Grosse Pointe, Mich., has been nominated for 10 Tony Awards, more than any other performer, and won five, including one for playing poet Dickinson in The Belle of Amherst. She also won three Emmy Awards and a Grammy and was nominated for an Oscar for lead actress (in her film debut, The Member of the Wedding, in 1952). Her other notable movie credits include East of Eden, Requiem for a Heavyweight, The Haunting and The Hiding Place. She’s been married three times, has a son and lives in Chatham, Mass.
