I’ve been watching the TV show Room 222 on DVD and was wondering what has happened to Karen Valentine.

Earlier this year at a reunion of cast members from the 1969-1974 TV series, which was set at a fictional high school in Los Angeles, Valentine, 63, said she’s comfortable being remembered as the bubbly teacher she portrayed in the comedy-drama. “Somehow I became Alice Johnson and Alice Johnson became me. People still remember that character well, and that’s OK,” says the actress, who won an Emmy for the role. In recent years, she has worked mainly on stage in plays, including Steel Magnolias. Valentine and her husband live in Southern California.
