We’ve been watching Only in America With Larry the Cable Guy. Where is he from?
—Alvin Daniels, Houston, Texas

The “get-’er-done!” comedian, 48, was born and raised Daniel Lawrence Whitney in Pawnee City, Neb. His family moved to Florida when he was 16, and he went to college at Baptist University of America in Decatur, Ga., where he learned to emulate a Southern accent from his roommates. Of his History Channel series he says, “I’ve traveled all around the country doing some crazy stuff—went to NASA and rode in a shuttle simulator, boxed a professional female boxer—and it’s all been real cool. The best thing about it is every episode shows the real ingenuity, spirit behind the people of this country. I love that.”
