The married father of four daughters, Phillips, 49, was born in the Philippines at the Subic Bay Naval Station and raised in Corpus Christi, Texas, and is part Filipino, Hawaiian, Chinese, Spanish, Scottish/Irish and Cherokee. He gained fame as singer Ritchie Valens in the 1987 movie La Bamba and went on to appear in Stand and Deliver, Young Guns, The Big Hit, Courage Under Fire and Brokedown Palace. Later this year, he'll join the cast of the A&E crime-thriller TV series Longmire. A competitive poker player since college, he played in the 2009 World Series of Poker.
