Love Story
Blu-ray ($22.99)

If you weren’t around 40-some years ago, it’s probably difficult to understand just why this little romantic tragi-drama was such a big freakin’ deal. It made stars out of Ryan O’Neal and Ali McGraw, made writer Eric Segel a household name, and gave popular culture the classic line “Love means never having to say you’re sorry.” (A bit of trivia: It was supposed to be “Love means not ever having to say you’re sorry,” but the dialogue was flubbed in the movie and no one thought it necessary to correct it.) The high-def debut of this book-to-movie marvel, the highest-grossing film of 1970, comes with commentary from director Arthur Hiller and a retrospective documentary.
