Could you please tell me what has happened to Mac Davis?
—Joy S., Tennessee

Mac Davis, who starred in Broadway's The Will Rogers Follies and Disney's Where the Red Fern Grows, has a recurring role on the ABC sitcom Rodney. "I'm perfectly typecast—I'm a slime-bag used car salesman," he jokes. Davis, 63, lives in Los Angeles and keeps very busy. "I'm always writing songs, and I've got a couple of teenage boys (Noah and Cody) I'm trying to be a good daddy to," says Davis, who wrote Bobby Goldsboro's 1971 hit Watching Scotty Grow about his son, Scotty, now 41, from an earlier marriage. He has been married to Lisë for 22 years. "Life has been good to me," he says. "I'm one of the lucky ones."
