What can you tell me about Margaret Rutherford? She was such a good actress as Miss Jane Marple in her Agatha Christie movie mysteries.

Born in Balham, England, Rutherford was a star of the stage on London's West End and also made more than 40 movies, including Blithe Spirit and The Importance of Being Earnest. She received an Academy Award for her role as an absentminded duchess in The V.I.P.s in 1963, and she portrayed Marple in four films between 1961 and 1964. She died in 1972 at the age of 80. Her husband, Stringer Davis, appeared in all of her Marple movies.
