Will you tell about Marni Nixon? For what musicals did she sing?
—Dolores Vann, Denton, Texas
Known as "the voice of Hollywood" — for many years, Nixon, 80, dubbed the singing voices of Deborah Kerr in The King and I, Natalie Wood in West Side Story and Audrey Hepburn in My Fair Lady. She performed in the musicals Nine, Follies, The Dead, My Fair Lady, The Sound of Music and Cabaret. Currently teaching in New York City and honing a one-woman show about her life, the soprano has three adult children, including singer-songwriter Andrew Gold.
