Yes. Mary McDonnell, 60, starred as President Laura Roslin on Battlestar Galactica and went on to play Capt. Sharon Raydor, first on The Closer and now on that show’s spinoff, Major Crimes. The Wilkes-Barre, Pa., native began her acting career on the East Coast in theatre and made her Hollywood breakthrough in 1990 as Stands With a Fist, the white woman raised by Indians in Kevin Costner’s Oscar-sweeping Dances With Wolves.
