Q: How is Mary Tyler Moore doing since her surgery?
—Marian S. Morgan, Statesville, N.C.
Moore, who underwent a four-hour procedure last May to remove a meningioma (a benign tumor on the lining tissue of the skull), recovered nicely. A spokesperson for Moore reported that the tumor was moved "in its entirety, and she required no additional treatment." The actress, 75, was featured recently on PBS's America in Primetime series in the "Independent Woman" episode for her work as Mary Richards on The Mary Tyler Moore Show and as Laura Petrie on The Dick Van Dyke Show. On Jan. 29, she's set to receive the Screen Actors Guild Life Achievement Award.
