Please share some background on Matthew McConaughey, the star of The Lincoln Lawyer. Where did he grow up?

McConaughey, 41, who has two older brothers, was born in Uvalde, Texas, and grew up in Longview, where his mom was a schoolteacher and his dad was an oil pipe salesman. After graduating from Longview High, where his classmates voted him most handsome, he spent a year in New South Wales, Australia, as a Rotary exchange student. In 1989 he enrolled at the University of Texas, planning to become a lawyer, but after reading Og Mandino’s The Greatest Salesman in the World, he switched his major and graduated in 1993 with a degree in radio, television and film.
